Indoor gardening can be just as much fun as having an outdoor garden. In fact, indoor plants not only help clean the environment around them, but they act as a quick decorating tool. There are quite a few hardy indoor house plants that anyone can keep alive and thriving – however if you have children or pets check before you buy as some may be toxic.

Aloe
Aloe is an easy-care succulent. It has distinctive elongated leaves that fan out in a vase shape from a central base. Smaller varieties such as Aloe vera will grow well on a sunny kitchen window. Aloes work nicely in dish gardens but keep the spiky leaves away from high-traffic areas.

Grow aloe vera plants by providing full sun, a warm climate, good drainage and sand or gravel mixed with compost as the growing material.

Tip: You can use aloe vera plants to heal wounds and burns.
