No Space For A Garden?

Gardening
No Space

If you only have a small space for a garden, you may think that it is an impossible thing to plan. The biggest problem with a small garden is not deciding what to include, it’s which features to leave out. A small garden has to provide colour, interest and entertainment for everyone who uses it, all year round. When you don’t have much available room, that can prove to be quite a challenge.

A small garden needs a strong design, so you really make the most of every square inch of space. If your garden is long and narrow this video has some great ideas to make the most of the space.

Some Ideas

  • Use vertical planting to make the most of the space.
  • Choose your plants carefully, for instance, herbs are great for planting in a window box, but trying to plant a sprawling fruit like cantaloupe will take up too much room.
  • Add interest to a small garden by adding in different levels. This could be a sunken terrace area or a raised lawn. Ledges and steps will help open up how you can use the space, adding in extra spots for plant pots to be arranged or guests to sit.
